J. KYLE GUTHRIE was born in Monmouth, Illinois. Mr. Guthrie received his Bachelor of Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1996, where he majored in International Studies and Political Science. Following Illinois Wesleyan University, Kyle joined the United States Army Reserve as an engineer until honorably discharged in 2005.

Mr. Guthrie earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2001. In law school, he received numerous awards, including Certificates of Merit in Contracts, Business Organizations, and Law Practice, the Sol Siegel Award for Academic Excellence, and the Leadership Achievement Award. Mr. Guthrie also represented his classmates as a member of the Student Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Guthrie served as the Articles Editor on the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review executive board, as well as working in the Sixty-Plus Elder Law Clinic.

Prior to joining Myers & Myers, PLLC, Mr. Guthrie was the research attorney for the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille of the Livingston County Circuit Court. In addition, Mr. Guthrie is an adjunct professor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Guthrie is admitted to practice law in Michigan, as well as the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.

Mr. Guthrie's practice primarily focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on real estate issues. Mr. Guthrie has successfully represented national and local lenders, title companies, small and mid-sized businesses, real estate agents/brokers, residential and commercial builders, associations, and individuals in a variety of legal matters. Mr. Guthrie's extensive experience and intimate knowledge of state-court procedures allows him to quickly assess the relevant facts and legal issues to provide efficient and cost-effective resolutions for his clients.
